The first half gives you a view of the Phoenix Valley while the second half gives a nice taste of what nature would be like if it wasn’t in a city. It’s a 2 mile hike up to the first fork and then another 2 miles to complete the loop.

This hike is perfect for
hardcore parkour practice (if you’re into that). The rocks are spaced for jumps, bounces and bounds. There’s plenty of space and obstacles to practice that art of freerunning.

The only downside is that the trail is difficult to see at some parts which makes it a little confusing. Don’t be alarmed if you reach a dead end, you probably just missed a turn.

Mormon Loop Trail is exactly what it sounds like: a loop. The loop is a long one. You have to continue on for a good five miles before it loops back around.

The trail breaks off into several others. Keep an eye out for Ranger's Trail and Fat Man's Pass

Mormon Loop Trail

Fat Man's Pass has this pretty awesome part that you have to squeeze to get by while Ranger's Trail is a bit more challenging. Ellen, an avid hiker we met on the way told us Fat Man Pass is one of her favorites. She said, "The views aren't the best but the trail is the most fun. The squeeze is great."

Mormon Loop Trail has a trail for everyone. Check it out and see which path you like best!

Ranger Trail is for the more rugged hikers. It's a 2.6 mile round trip hike with a large uphill haul. We haven't had the chance to do it, but we hear its quite the challenge! Give it a try!
